Who Cares

As well as managing city clubbing institution the Lakota, James Haggart also helps run Bristol’s delightfully irregular and conceptual Who Cares night. The idea? Each night is a lucky dip from its large grab bag of top resident DJs.

How does Bristol inspire you?

“Where do I begin? The music, the street art, the people, the parties. Bristol is such an amazing city full of endless opportunities.”

Why is Bristol such an ideas factory?

“Bristol is a creative hub. People from all over the world come together and share their ideas and aspirations here. The city provides a platform for creative individuals and collectives to get themselves noticed.”

Why do Bristolians all work together?

“Birds of a feather flock together. Bristol is full of like-minded people, all with different skills, knowledge and experience. By putting their heads together, it makes it possible to achieve incredible things.”

What’s your favourite Bristol institution?

“The Lakota has always been a favourite venue of mine and we’re working at making it better and better. Who Cares? have thrown some of our biggest and best parties outside in the courtyard, and we’ve packed out some amazing shows in The Moon Club with the likes of Eatseverything. The venue has so much potential, still.”

Tell us why Bristol is the place to be

“The city has something for everyone. It feels like home and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. There is always something going on, whether it’s your mate’s first DJ set, an album launch or a sell-out show with your all-time favourite DJ. Bristol never ceases to amaze me.”
